With this ring, I do… Call?

Just when you thought wireless headsets had gone as far as they could, someone just had to go and think outside of the box again. The ring box that is. I don’t know whether to classify this as a high tech ring or a super high tech headset but whichever it is, it has to be the coolest idea that I have seen in a long time.

The ORB – A wireless headset that folds into a wearable ring.

With a unique E-Ink caller ID display that shows caller ID and calendar info. To activate the headset, you just twist it from a ring into an “S” and stick it in your ear; it receives your audio via bone conduction. The makers say the Orb will come in different ring sizes, to fit all. It is due to hit the market sometime in 4th Quarter 2010.

I can see wedding ceremony now; “With this ring I do calleth you.”  I don’t know who coined the phrase “pocket dial” but “glove dial” is mine!
